What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for the Townsville Courthouse are mixed, with some praising the helpfulness of staff like JPs, while others express frustration with perceived delays and procedural issues, particularly for self-represented individuals. The watch house facilities received a unique, albeit sarcastic, review.
"I am very pleased with the lovely customer service I received from Janelle and Ernie today. (29th Nov around 3pm)
I came into the Magistrate Court Office to have some documents signed by a JP and
I haven’t got access to a photocopier so i asked Janelle if i couple have some copies done, there was some troubles however, she went out of her way to get these done for me and I am just so so appreciative of her service! They both provided wonderful service so thank you this has made my day."

"The watch house underneath the building provides a great place to stay. One bed one toilet setup, open plan and room service. The food was pretty good although there was lack of an entree and dessert.
The customer service was pretty good , with the guards able to provide an audience to my serenade as I sang summer of 69.
Could have used an extra pillow and a yoga mat , hopefully this improves for next time."

"How do I give a 0?
Final hearing 11/01/23 - acting judge unsure if he had jurisdiction and asked for submissions with deadline of 25/01/23 for both parties.
Judge let me know decision will be given on 12/05/23 @ 10 am by email at 3pm on 11/05/23
Gave his verdict on 12/05/23
Letter issued on 19/05/23 contrary to all comms done by emails prior without reasons why decision was made
Received letter on deadline to request decision on 26/05/23 and request was made that day itself to obtain decision ( 14 days maximum as per rules)
Received decision on 12/06/23 that request for decision was declined as I should have submitted prior to 26/01/23
Joke or what?
How do 1 request reasons for decions 3 months before decision is taken?
Disadvantaged and not given opportunity to understand the decision.
Now asked to pay to know why the acting judge took a decision.
Not only due to late notice by email I could have missed the hearing when the verdict was being given, but enough notice should be given so that parties are given plenty of opportunity to rearrange their schedules.
Guessing it's the same system that allows recidivists back on the street and more innocent people's lives are affected on a daily basis,"
