What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Urunga Boardwalk's stunning, clear waters and the opportunity to see marine life like fish and stingrays. Many consider it a must-visit, especially for sunset, and a perfect, free stop on East Coast road trips. Some mention recent repairs, but the beauty of the boardwalk and its surroundings consistently earns high praise.
"Needed to stop for fuel and decided to check areas to visit - so happy to have done so because this is the boardwalk with the most stunning views I’ve ever been (and I do travel a lot!).
The path goes all the way on top of the mangroves until it reaches the beaches, and the water is so clear you can even see some fishes and stingrays. I heard some people saw some crabs as well - I did not have the luck though.
Any case, the walk alone is absolutely worth it, recommend to go during the sunset as you will get amazing sky colours.
Note that they are going to close the pathway because some improvements are going to be performed to the boardwalk - hope it becomes available again soon!"

"Visited here over the Easter weekend. A beautiful walk with amazing scenery. We saw lots of different fish 🐟🐠🦀. There were people having a swim as well."

"Fantastic experience. Maybe a little over 1km return. Spot fish, see the mangroves, see the tides battling through the inlet. If you're licky like us...see a whale at the end!"
