"Supplying Goulburn with water since 1980, Pejar Dam was, before the construction of the wind turbines, the most prominent item of infrastructure along the road from Goulburn to Crookwell. I remember seeing the dam during family road trips to Crookwell in the early 1980s, and being surprised and impressed by it.
During my visit yesterday, the dam was at or near capacity, as evidenced by water slowly trickling over the spillway. I have seen it during times of drought, a sad sight indeed, with the high water mark on the dam walls being many meters above the surface of the water. Many waterbirds were enjoying the abundant water yesterday.
Apparently fishing is permitted in the dam, provided that one will adhere to the many conditions set out on a sign located near the rest area. Be sure to have an up to date fishing permit, and be aware of the bag limit of the fish species you are attempting to catch."

"It's just a nice picturesque area. If you're out and out in the Goulburn area, there's plenty of nice places like Pejar Dam to spend some time. Toilets, tables and even some rudimentary BBQs. Plenty of room to pull up with your caravan/camper."

"I realy liked this place, even though it was mid winter atbthe time. Apparemtly it is considered Alpine Country here.signs say you can catch trout here. has full toilet facilities and picnic grounds. spacious views. swimming allowed. dam overflow is pretty cool"
