Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking panoramic views from kunanyi/Mount Wellington, calling it a must-visit in Hobart. The accessibility via car and the stunning landscapes, especially during winter snowfalls, are major highlights. However, many caution about the extreme cold and wind at the summit, emphasizing the need for warm clothing.

"One of the best experiences you can have in the Hobart. Just 20 minutes drive from the city. Most beautiful landscape of the city and the whole area from city to Claremont.
Had a snow experience for the first time and it was amazing. If you going up there, pack your things for freezing cold. Must visit place in Hobart."

Chamath De Silva

"Great views in winter - when the road is open. You can check if it’s open on the City of Hobart website, together with webcam footage from two cameras at the summit so you can see what the conditions are like. Obviously if you’re close to it then you’ll see if there’s cloud obscuring the summit, but if you’re a distance away then this can be useful - as long as the weather plays ball!
Bear in mind that even on a mild winter day in Hobart, the temperature change at 1270m altitude coupled with the wind chill from the very strong winds up there can make it painfully cold, so take care and be prepared for it!"

Patrick Joyce (Pat Joyce)

"My Wellington the mountain that looks over Hobart!

A magnificent view of the entire Hobart basin can be seen from here.

A 12km winding drive up the mountain.

Plenty of Car Parking available, modern toilets and multiple viewing areas.

Access to walking trails that lead over and down the mountain."
