What Travellers Say

Melba's Chocolate Factory is a charming stop in the Adelaide Hills, praised for its nostalgic atmosphere and the quality of its handmade chocolates and delicious hot chocolate. "Lovely little place to stop off when travelling through the hills. Might get lucky and see them creating some wonderful products and sweets.
However theres less on offer then I remember with a giant santa and tree taking up a good portion of the floor now.
Chocolate is a little pricey, but if you appreciate good chocolate like haighs, then the price is justified. It's some tasty stuff and good for gifts."

"Beautifully refurbished chocolate factory with viewing areas to see products being made. Definitely a touch of old world charm also.
Save up before you go as you are paying for QUALITY!
Also the best hot chocolate! Glad I got take away as I got a larger serve π"

"I've been meaning to visit this place for a while and was pleased to finally have the chance last Saturday.
The factory is in the industrial area of Woodside. It looks large from the outside, but the actual shop area is quite a bit smaller, which makes sense as they need room to package items, etc.
It was a bit disappointing to see that there is no chocolate tasting on offer, except for a choice of a few types at the sales counter. So, there is no tasting of peanut clusters or rocky road, just milk and dark chocolate and rum and raisin. Plus, you need to ask for a piece, so you probably end up tasting one or two small pieces of chocolate. I've been to other factories where they are more generous with their tasting options.
The prices are extremely high, and though, the chocolate is tasty, would be beyond the reach of many.
I did enjoy the hot chocolate from the cafe and would purchase one again when in the area.
I recommend visiting on a weekday as it does get very busy on the weekends."
