"It’s a natural wading pool by the bay – perfect for a fun day out with the kids. Right next to it, there’s a scenic coastal walkway and a playground. The whole area feels open and breezy, great for a stroll, a bike ride, or just chilling with a picnic."

"Fun experience to take the kids. Parking was crazy but found somewhere eventually. Side in the pool was a hit but rather busy. Keeps kids busy for a bit. It’s got a cleaner end on the northern side near the toilets ect. As you get closer to the pool, you can see the algi or whatever build up that it is, as it turns a little black and nice and squishy. But a great time and lunch across the road was good."

"The toilets are the worst I have seen the council should be ashamed maintenance in the babies room is needed and dirty I took my grandson in and straight out. The toilets are no better. The park is great and the pool."

Understanding the Water Quality
Community discussions suggest that while generally safe for swimming, it's wise to be aware of the conditions. Some users recall reading information on site about the treatment process, which involves filtration and aeration to 'sterilize' and remove impurities. Despite the natural variations, many families have enjoyed swimming here without issue, with one Reddit user humorously noting it's 'MUCH cleaner now than 30 years ago lol'.
For those concerned, checking local environmental reports, such as those from the Department of Environment and Science for air and water quality in the Wynnum area, can provide additional peace of mind. Ultimately, it offers a more natural swimming experience compared to a typical pool, with the understanding that it's an open body of water.
Making the Most of Your Visit
For families, the playground located nearby provides an excellent alternative or addition to pool time, ensuring kids have plenty of entertainment. The presence of BBQ facilities also makes it an ideal spot for a family gathering or a relaxed picnic lunch. You can easily spend several hours here, enjoying the water, the scenery, and the recreational opportunities.
While the pool itself is the main attraction, the surrounding area offers a pleasant atmosphere for relaxation. Grabbing a chippy lunch from a local eatery and enjoying it by the bay is a classic Wynnum experience. The overall vibe is laid-back and family-oriented, making it a popular local spot for a casual day out.
