What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Ehrenberg Castle for its stunning historical ruins and the exhilarating Highline179 suspension bridge, offering breathtaking Alpine panoramas. While the castle ruins are free to explore, access to the bridge and transport requires a fee, which some find a drawback. The complex provides a full day of exploration with on-site dining options.
"Hi y’all,
We visited the Ehrenburg Castle in Austria.
It’s just stunning. That’s what you usually see in movies. This one should definitely be checked out.
Doesn’t matter with the family, partner or even alone. The trip is at least a half day trip without kids.
Cool thing about it is that the attractions itself are for free. You only have to pay for the transport to the attractions. Of course they’re easy to use and for anybody usable.
If you decide to save the money and make it even more memorable, just go up the hill to Claudia Fort, take then the highline, checkout the Ehrenburg, hike up to Schlosskopf and then either use the transportations to go down or just hike again. It’s all accessible on food.
You can buy the tickets anywhere. No need to buy them I advance. Just decide what you wanna do once you’ve reached the point since you can pay right before the transportation.
Ok, that’s it. Check it out yourself !
King regards
Peter"

"The castle itself is kind of unremarkable from the inside, but looks great from the outside. It is being worked on (restoration) so many areas are closed off. It's free to enter, but if you want to go on the bridge or take the funicular, there are fees. Views are spectacular"

"We didn't expect so many attractions to be located in one place. We walked here from Lechaschau, originally planning to visit Burgruine Ehrenberg only. You can easily organise a day trip to this complex. There is a hotel on the grounds, as well as a restaurant with decent food. The main attractions include the suspension bridge, the ruins of the fort, and two lifts that provide easy access. We chose to walk everywhere, which took some time, but it was quite enjoyable. It's steep depending on the route you take.
Would you like it to be more formal, more concise, or expanded with additional details?"
