Ambras Castle - Innsbruck, Austria
My favorite castle of all time. I visited there a couple years ago and was inspired to [recreate it in Minecraft](https://imgur.com/a/0abZq9t) at a 1:1 scale. If you ever get a chance to visit Innsbruck, it is well worth the trip!

Castles in Austria?
Any castles outside of cities that we should check out in December? Planning an itinerary now, will definitely include Vienna and Salzburg, and maybe Innsbruck, Hallstatt. Any castles outside of these cities worth stopping for during our travels?

"An absolute jewel and highlight of the Innsbruck visit. This famous Habsburg castle is a unique renaissance exemplar, housing a stunning personal collection of “curiosities” and some of the most famous Habsburg portraits.
While a bit out of town, castle can be easily accessed by public bus, available every 7 minutes. Don’t miss it! 1,5hours is enough for the visit. But add some time to just relax in the park or have a snack and coffee in the courtyard cafe."

"Pretty good place to spend few hours.
Access is available to 2 buildings.
Nice big park around the castle.
Free entry with the Innsbruck Card."
Kyrylo Sulyma
"Very beautiful castle, interesting collection of weapons and armour, parking costs 1.10 euro per half an hour. You can park right next to the castle's entrance, but it is a rather small space so I recommend to visit early in the morning, castle opens at 10 am but before that, you can visit the park and gardens around it so you can come even sooner. We managed to see all in 1.5 hour but we did a little speedrun of the interior, there where a lot of portraits of people, which is not really interesting to us."
