What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Rettenbachalm is highly praised for its delicious, generously portioned Austrian cuisine and its charming alpine setting. Visitors rave about the friendly service and the inviting atmosphere, making it a memorable dining experience. While the menu might require some clarification for non-German speakers, the overall consensus is overwhelmingly positive, with many considering it a culinary highlight.
"We visited the restaurant on our last day in Austria and enjoyed the experience very much. We drove to the lovely alpine meadow (excellent signage from Bad Ischl) on a rainy day so there were not a lot of customers there, but I imagine the place can get busy in good weather. The service was good - a bit hard for us (Canadians) to understand the menu but we managed! We ordered schnitzels for the kids (huge portions and so tasty), venison with spatzels and the knodel trio and everyone loved their meal and the presentation. We topped the meal with a shared dessert and coffees. Most excellent end to our visit to Austria and Salzkammergut. This may have been the best meal of a 4 week long trip. Thank you for the memorable meal!"
