Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Salzburg Old Town for its breathtaking baroque architecture, fairytale atmosphere, and rich musical heritage. The charming streets, iconic landmarks like Hohensalzburg Fortress, and the connection to Mozart and 'The Sound of Music' are major draws. However, some find it can get very crowded, especially during peak season, and recommend visiting early to fully appreciate its beauty.

"Very nice place in old city of Salzburg which contains a lot of historical landmarks and a lot of stores and restaurants and coffee shops. The place is big and ideal for walking and chilling out during day or night. The place is accessible by all transportation ways"

"The Old City Hall in Salzburg is a charming historical spot right in the heart of the old town. The building itself is beautiful, and the surrounding area is full of small shops, cafés, and vibrant streets that capture the essence of Salzburg’s charm. A nice place to stop by while exploring the city center."

Our_Discoveries5

"Known for Mozart's birthplace and beautiful surroundings, Salzburg is a small town near the boarder of Germany. Located in southeast of Germany, Salzburg actually belongs to Austria. If you are staying in Munich for a few days and have a day to spare, hopping on a train to do a quick round trip to Salzburg would be a great idea. It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to Salzburg train station from the Munich Central Train Station.

As it's located near the Germany boarder, Salzburg shares a lot of German cultures. When you arrive and look around this small town, you'd notice that a lot of buildings, its atmosphere and the tone seem similar to what you'd see in other small towns in Germany. But you will soon realize this town is beautifully located and very well maintained. The streets are clean, people are nice and the entire town seems to be celebrating the Christmas throughout winter. So this is a must go place if you are in Germany or Austria during the winter time. Also make sure to take an unbrella as it seems like it rains frequently during the winter time.

Places to visit while visiting Salzburg are noted (but not limited to) below:
- Mozart's birthplace
- Walking around the town
- Hohensalzburg Fortress
- Salzburg Cathedral
- Salzburg Christmas Market for winter time (near Salzburg Cathedral)"
