Reviews Summary
Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is widely praised as an exceptional ski resort, particularly for families, offering vast, well-maintained pistes and modern infrastructure. While some find the snow quality variable on lower slopes, the higher altitude and north-facing areas provide excellent conditions. The unique car-free village of Serfaus and the resort's family-centric approach are major draws.
"Big area, but the quality of skiing very much depending on being on the north side (less sun impact) and altitude (1800-2800m). This leaves the Nordseite above Fiss & Ladis and the Lazid / Scheid and Masner areas further away from Serfaus as the best areas. The areas to and back from these areas are really bad in the afternoon when temperatures are above zero and sunshine (slush snow and pistes a mess). So once in an area with good conditions better to stay there till the end of the day. Higher areas are subject to poor visibility when low clouds, though. Overall I would not recommend this area for beginners to medium level skiers, unless very small children that stay in Berta’s Kinderland areas. For skilled skiers the area is much better suited with most pistes challenging red and black ones. My preferred area was the Nordseite. Since only red and black pistes there, not much bad skiers around, and being at the extreme end of the area also less crowded, especially the area of the Almbahn gondola and 12er-bahn chairlift. Nice stop there is the Schöngampalm restaurant, just before the Almbahn gondola. Ladis is very small and quiet, more focussed on families with small children. Fiss is much bigger and best located in the centre of the whole area. Serfaus is also big and more happening, but logistically more challenging, with the metro playing a big part in logistics (cars only allowed for check in & out), with the ski lifts only at the complete other end of the village from the entrance and car park. Overall I enjoyed my stay from 15-22 March, but I will not return here due to the mentioned fluctuations in ski conditions between the sub-areas, with much better areas nearby for the same price level."

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider staying in Fiss for a good balance of amenities and central access, or Ladis for a quieter, more intimate family experience. Serfaus offers the unique advantage of its car-free village and metro system, which can simplify logistics with young children. The resort's commitment to family fun extends beyond the slopes with various entertainment options.

Packing your own snacks and lunches for the slopes can also make a significant difference. While the resort is known for its quality, exploring options for less expensive dining in the villages rather than exclusively on the mountain can help manage expenses.
