What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise Hotel Imperial for its exceptional service, luxurious ambiance, and rich historical character, often describing it as a 'palace' experience. Many highlight room upgrades and the delicious Imperial Torte. A minor point of feedback sometimes mentions the need for continued investment in building heritage to maintain its elite status.
"This is easily one of the finest hotel stays I have ever had in my life. From the moment I walked in the gorgeous lobby, I was warmly greeted and treated so nicely. The staff were absolutely incredible, especially the dark haired lady at check-in who was phenomenal. The location is perfect, right on Vienna's famed ring road and just a couple minutes walk from the Opera House and aboute 15 minutes from Stephansplatz.
I was upgraded to a suite, which was huge and felt like I was living in a period drama movie. The hotel used to be a palace and it definitely shows. The stairway to my room alone was epic and I felt like a royal going up and down.
The champagne breakfast the next morning was just a perfect start to the day. I can't thank the staff enough for their kindness and professionalism. It's not cheap to stay here but it's highly, highly recommended!
EDIT: Oh, almost forgot to mention the Imperial torte, the in-house cake made by this hotel. It is one of the best cakes I've ever had and way better than the Sacher torte that many tourists go for."

"We had a wonderful experience staying at Hotel Imperial. Not only was the stay itself excellent, but we truly enjoyed the rich history and charm of the property. The front desk clerk, Amy, was exceptionally friendly, professional, and courteous throughout our visit.
Our room was upgraded, though it wasn’t ready when we arrived. Amy handled the situation perfectly and made sure we were well accommodated while we waited. At checkout, she even surprised us with a small souvenir—a fridge magnet—which we absolutely loved.
Overall, Hotel Imperial far exceeded our expectations, thanks in large part to Amy’s outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended!"

"Beautiful hotel. Wonderful team. Super Austrian speciality food and wine. It is clear the team (many of whom have been together for years) are just that, a team.
Unreservedly recommend the Imperial. One star knocked off. The owner perhaps should be investing in the buildings heritage to ensure it stays at the elite end of Vienna hotels. The Bristol is undergoing a multi million euro refurbishment...
However the people make the experience and without doubt the Imperial is blessed to have such a loyal committed group of professionals, front of house, kitchen, concierge and housekeeping. Bravo."
