Reviews Summary

The Kriminalmuseum Wien is praised for its unique and extensive exploration of Vienna's crime history, offering a fascinating glimpse into the judicial system and infamous cases. Visitors appreciate the detailed audio guide and the museum's cool interior, making it a great value for money. However, some find the lack of English captions for photographs and the sometimes chaotic order of the audio guide to be drawbacks.

"It's a nice museum summarising the history of crime and crime-solving in Vienna, but the English voice-guide was annoying to me - a silly voice which goes into so much detail on some criminal cases and skips over others, and in a chaotic order so you find yourself doubling back and struggling to find the relevant exhibits. I ran out of time and had to skip through some or the final more modern era stories."

"Interesting but Needs More English Captions

The Crime Museum offers a truly unique and interesting look into Vienna's history. Plan for more than an hour for your visit—there's a lot to see! The exhibits are captivating and the audioguide is very clear, making the stories easy to follow. The staff were also very helpful.

The one letdown was the lack of English descriptions for the many photographs. While the audioguide is great, you'll miss a lot of context from the wall captions if you don't read German.

Overall, it's a great visit that takes well over 60 minutes to complete properly. Still very much worth it!"

"It was very interesting, the audioguide in English was perfect with so much information. It’s nice and cold inside, so it’s a perfect thing to do on a hot summer day."
