This caravanserai was built by a merchants from Multan, which is now a city in Pakistan, during the reign of Sultan Mohammed bin Tughlaq between 1325-1351. It served as an essential stopover on ancient trade routes, offering rest and refuge to merchants and travelers passing through the region.
