"Kamalapur Railway Station is the largest central and main railway station in Bangladesh, serving as the gateway to the capital city, Dhaka. It is located in Motijheel and is considered a symbol of modern architecture. The station was officially opened in 1968 and since then it has played a vital role in the railway communication system of the country. Every day, thousands of passengers travel through this station, making it one of the busiest and most important railway hubs in Bangladesh. It is equipped with ticket counters, waiting rooms, and food shops, which provide essential facilities for travelers. Its unique architectural design makes it a landmark of Dhaka and a center of attraction for visitors. A good side of this station is that it connects Dhaka with different parts of the country, making trade and travel easier. Another positive aspect is that it is spacious and can handle a large number of passengers at a time. "The central and main railway station of Bangladesh. It was opened on 01 may 1968 which connected the capital with the major cities. It was built during the Pakistan period but it’s railway line was built during the British period. The station was designed by two architects, Daniel Dunham & Robert Boughey. Currently the station is getting a touch of modernity in its management. Tickets can be purchased online from home. Tickets vending machines have been installed at the station, scanners have been installed for security and the Uttara-Matijheel metro is being extended up to Kamolapur Railway Station. The station has drinking water facilities and public toilets. seating spaces for waiting passengers is insufficient compared to the requirements. About 50 million peoples travel using this station annually. There is car parking facilities and WheelChair accessibility. Railways are a national asset, let’s protect the national asset and keep the surrounding environment clean."
