What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Brussels Midi Station is a massive, well-connected hub for international and domestic travel, praised for its extensive services and convenience for onward journeys. However, many visitors caution about significant safety concerns regarding pickpocketing and theft, alongside occasional unpleasant odors. While functional, it could benefit from modernization to enhance the overall traveler experience.
"Brussels Midi Station, also known as Bruxelles-Midi or Brussels-South, is the busiest and most important railway station in Belgium. It is the main hub for international high-speed rail services. The station is located at Avenue Fonsny 47B. It serves international high-speed trains, including Eurostar to London, TGV to France, and ICE to Germany, as well as domestic SNCB trains throughout Belgium. The station is also a major transfer hub, connected to Metro lines 2, 4, 6 and 10, as well as to numerous tram and bus routes. Wi-Fi, luggage storage, ticket offices, information desk, shops, a supermarket, cafes and food outlets are available on the station grounds. Ticket offices are open from 05:45 to 21:30 daily, while the station itself is closed at night from around 1:30 to 3:30. Overall, it's not bad, but there are some unpleasant odors in certain areas. The station administration should pay attention to this. There are plenty of shops, eateries, and opportunities to grab a bite or enjoy a cup of coffee."

"I visit Midi train station often, and it’s always a bit of a mixed experience. The place is huge and well connected. You can catch trains to almost anywhere in Europe from here. The signs are fairly clear, though it can still take a few minutes to find the right platform. The waiting areas are okay, but the station feels a bit old and crowded. There are plenty of cafes and snack spots around, which are great for grabbing a quick coffee before your train. Overall, it does its job well, but it could use a refresh to feel more modern and welcoming."

"Major station in Belgium serving international routes within Europe.
This station has many shops, few restaurants and a Carrefour with a Salad bar.
Famous landmarks such as the Manneken Pis & the central square are 20-25 mins walk from this railway station.
Like with all major European railway stations, be careful about thieves.
Even in the trains, there always is announcements to beware of thieves."
