What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary

The integration of Koen Van Mechelen's art with the landscape and the informative audio guide are frequently highlighted as major positives.
"A place you don't expect to see in Genk. A small gem where Nature surrounds you with silence, unexpected animals and historical notes. How much you can learn about the mine and the story behind the open air wild zoo is unbelievable. Once you pay for the tickets (if you live in Genk you enter for free whenever you want) they give you the audio guide in German, English, Dutch or French. Art and animals cohabit in this pleasant park. Benches are available throughout the walking path to enjoy the views. Just be sure to don't miss the wild park located behind the gate (you'll receive the free mat of the site to guide yourself through the entire location). A small shop is also available at the entrance and a fountain give you water for free inside of the shop. A few restaurants are available close by the park and the parking spot is at liberty without extra costs. The receptionist is always ready to help you out, especially if you want to have more info about workshops for families, children or general arts."

"Mainly outdoor trail - about 1.7km walk. Art by Koen Van Mechelen. But also simply beauty of nature and animals without fancy zoo cages. Must visit when you can ! (The studio - 1st floor doesn't seems to be open permanently, which is unfortunate)"
MiLo Consult
"This place is magical, extremely beautiful and the stories begind the art is incredible, yet very understandable. Loved experiencing it!"
