What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Ten Duinen Abbey Museum for its surprisingly engaging and interactive approach to history, especially the 'quest' for children. The combination of indoor exhibits and outdoor ruins, along with friendly staff, makes for a fun and educational family outing. Some minor points of improvement were noted regarding the age of the ruin explanation boards.
"The museum is nice, but the tour outside is a crucial piece which must be visited as well (especially with children). The museum offers a 'quest' and give you (and/or your children) a bag full of utensils/tools to perform the tasks related to this quest [won't ruin the surprise]. So it's imperative that the weather is good and allows a visit outside. The inside (on 3 levels) is also worth a visit and has quite interesting elements to see and the discover. The whole visit is fun and educational. The staff is also very friendly. Worth a visit in combination with the Nys House (Jommeke) near the museum."

"for those who like history and monasteries, it is a very nice memory, the entrance fee is really symbolic, parking in front of the entrance, toilets are available, also a souvenir shop and lockers, the museum is divided into an indoor and outdoor part, everywhere is clean, everything is nicely arranged, informative, supplemented by several interactive boxes for children, there is also a small cinema with a short film, outside is even a buffet, we really liked it, I recommend it for the whole family, and of course it is not more than 20min from the beach!"

"Surprisingly well done museum showing Medieval abbey ruins in an interesting, modern and interactive way. We've been to many abbey ruins and they often look the same. Here the creators went a long way to make them much more interesting. Our kids loved it and we can sincerely recommend it too."
