What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate Kikbeekbron Hoge Kempen for its beautiful nature and the peaceful escape it offers from populated areas. However, strict dog restrictions and challenging terrain for strollers are noted drawbacks.
"It’s hard to hike with a baby carrier and a stroller. But it was really worth it. Beautiful views and beautiful nature."
Ahmed Said Calik
"It saddens me to say that we were unable to even go and walk up to the lake because we had our dogs with us and they are not permitted into the reserve. Apart from the doggie park there is not much else to walk if you have your furry friends with you. It's impressive that this is what it has come down to. The little bit of beautiful nature left filled with restrictions. Makes me wonder 😟"

"Nice place to find a little touch of nature. There is not many places like this around the area, as everything is very populated. So it is very nice to be able to find some peace and lone time far from civilization. The only downside is that the highway is relatively close, so at some parts it is impossible not to listen to all the noise car make."

Exploring the Nature Reserve
While the natural beauty is a significant draw, it's important to be aware of the restrictions in place. Notably, dogs are not permitted within the reserve itself, which can be a point of disappointment for pet owners. However, a dedicated dog park area is available, offering some space for furry companions. The proximity of the highway means that at certain points, the sound of traffic can be audible, slightly detracting from the otherwise tranquil atmosphere.
For those planning a visit, understanding the terrain is key. While some paths are accessible, others can be challenging, especially for those with strollers or baby carriers. A sturdy baby carrier is often recommended to navigate the trails more comfortably and fully enjoy the stunning views and natural surroundings.
Visitor Experience and Accessibility
However, accessibility can be a concern for some. As noted, navigating the trails with a stroller or baby carrier can be difficult, suggesting that this location might be better suited for those who can manage without such equipment or who opt for a more robust carrier. The dog restrictions are also a significant factor for visitors with pets, limiting their ability to explore the main reserve areas.
Despite these considerations, the beautiful views and natural scenery are consistently highlighted as major positives, making the effort worthwhile for many. The opportunity to engage in activities like walking and cycling further enhances the appeal for outdoor enthusiasts.
