"An M2A1 Howitzer is placed here at the intersection of Baraque de Fraiture as a monument. The intersection is named after Major Arthur C. Parker. Major Parker from the 106th Infantry Division managed to hold the crossroad from 19/23 December, from overwhelming odds, with only remnants of the 589e Field Artillery Battalion and two regiments of the 422nd and 423rd. The Second ss Panzer Division captured the crossroad on 23 December, 1944. But behind schedule and with many losses, thanks to Major Parker and his men."
