What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Ferme de Mont-Saint-Jean for its unique historic setting, excellent Waterloo beers, and enjoyable Sunday brunch. However, some reviews point to issues with service inflexibility, a reliance on QR code ordering, and occasional inconsistencies in food temperature, leading to a mixed experience for some.
"We arrived to eat tapas and have a couple of glasses of wine, were shown to a table and told to order using the qr code. We ordered (online) the Mediterranean platter and mentioned, when invited, that we don’t eat bread. It arrived with a very lovely basket of bread sticks and crackers for the two dips. When we asked for a substitute, the waitress asked us if we had noted it in the comments on our order - we had. We asked for some veg for dipping but she said it wasn’t possible and simply walked away with the bread leaving a gaping gap on our food platter and not even a spoon to scoop the dips. Seriously? Any restaurant I have ever been to will offer something in return - especially when you’ve paid for something that you are not going to eat. A hefty price tag for what we got. And then the falafels … to be avoided. Cheap frozen fare from industrial catering. The service here is appalling. They simply do not care. You basically serve yourself with no communication and human touch. A restaurant which maxes out customer spending using a formulaic and inflexible system. Very disappointing and expensive."

"Very good food, good atmosphere and in a unique site.
The food was very well presented, tasty and well cooked. Good amount of food.
Good cocktails and interesting wine selection.
Being a brewery, and Belgian, you can expect excellent beer and even their own whiskeys."

"We were there with a group of 10. Even before everyone sat down, they made it very clear we could only take from the pre-arranged menu.
A lot of our dishes weren't even warm when they got to the table. The waiters missed several times what we ordered for drinks. So we had to ask again and again to bring our drinks.
It also wasn't busy at all. This made us feel like they didn't care at all.
I would not come back here .... ever"
