What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Bhairon Temple essential for completing the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, with the cable car offering a convenient and scenic ascent. While the trek is steeper, the views from the top are mesmerizing, and amenities like langar are appreciated. Some note the need to be wary of monkeys and the open shoe storage.
"Bhairo Nath nhi darshan karne se, maata ka darshan poora nhi hota hain, aisa bola jaata hain. Previously when we visited Vaishno Mata at 2011, we didn't have the luck to visit Bhairo temple, so this time in 2025 I had planned that I will mandatorily visit Bhairo Nath temple and will complete the whole trekk by walking. The way to Bhairo Nath is much steeper and narrow. Alongside horse and dulis will also use the same road.
Nowadays there is Cable Car service from Vaishno Devi temple to Bhairo Nath temple. Both online and offline service available. At a very cheap price of Rs 100, one can easily climb up this mountain alongside enjoying the beautiful landscape. The last cable car service from down is at 5.30 in summer.
One has to stand in queue for some time for Bhaironath darshan. After darshan, do come out in the open mall made at the side from where one will get the whole town view and it's mesmerizing.
P.s
a) stay aware of the monkeys present here
b) there is no shoe rack or shoe keeping stand at Bhairo Nath temple. So one has to keep shoe before entering the premises openly at the gates"

"A wonderful place to visit! The experience of traveling by ropeway is truly amazing and offers breathtaking views. The journey is smooth, and the surrounding scenery makes it even more enjoyable. It’s a great spot for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
Although the place can get a bit crowded at times, it is well-managed, and the overall experience remains pleasant. The staff is helpful, and the facilities are well-maintained. Waiting times might vary depending on the season and time of visit, but the wait is definitely worth it.
The entire ride is safe and comfortable, giving visitors a unique perspective of the area. Whether you are visiting with family, friends, or even solo, this place is a must-visit. It’s an excellent way to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse yourself in nature.
Overall, a fantastic experience that combines adventure, scenic beauty, and fun. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable outing!"

The Legend of Bhairon Nath
Realizing his folly and seeking forgiveness, Bhairav Nath was granted a boon by the Goddess. This boon stipulated that his temple would become an integral part of the Vaishno Devi yatra, and no pilgrimage would be considered complete without paying respects at Bhairon Temple. This legend underscores the spiritual necessity of visiting Bhairon Temple to conclude the sacred journey.
Navigating the Ascent: Trek vs. Cable Car
To mitigate this, a cable car service (ropeway) has been established, offering a convenient and time-saving alternative. This service, costing around Rs. 100 for a round trip, provides a comfortable ride with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Trikuta Mountains and the valley below. It's particularly beneficial for the elderly, children, or those with physical limitations, ensuring everyone can complete their pilgrimage.
Pilgrims have the choice to trek, which offers a more arduous but potentially more rewarding spiritual experience, or to utilize the cable car for ease and speed. Regardless of the chosen method, the journey to Bhairon Temple is a crucial and memorable part of the overall Vaishno Devi yatra.
Experiencing Bhairon Temple: Views and Amenities
The Shrine Board has ensured basic amenities are available for pilgrims. A 'Shri Bhairon Langer' provides free meals, a gesture of community service and spiritual offering. Additionally, facilities for hot, cold, and normal drinking water are readily accessible, ensuring pilgrims stay hydrated during their visit.
Visitors should be mindful of the local wildlife, particularly monkeys, which are known to frequent the area and can be a nuisance if not approached with caution. Also, remember that there are no shoe racks; footwear must be left openly at the entrance.
