What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Bumdra Monastery Trek is lauded for its breathtaking panoramic views and serene, spiritual atmosphere, especially the overnight camping experience. While challenging, the rewarding vistas and the unique opportunity to sleep under the stars make it a highly recommended adventure for those seeking a deeper connection with the Himalayas. Some find the trek strenuous, and the basic camping amenities require preparedness.
"Very humble looking monastery with peaceful surroundings"
Gamer's Loft Singapore
"The Bumdra Hike takes you beyond the famous Tiger's Nest hike. From Tiger's Nest it takes about another 3 hours for good hikers. Enjoy the spectacular views of the valley below. Halt a night at Bumdra at a tented accommodation. Next morning hike further up to the three cremation grounds (for babies). The highest one is 4248m above sea level and you can enjoy the 360 degree view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It is worth the climb. Back to your camp and have lunch and hike back to Paro which will take about 3 hours to the base of the hike. There is also an alternate trail which you can opt to take while going up if you want to avoid the steep climb of Taktshang trail. But need to start early if you want to visit the Tiger's Nest Monastery."
