"A great open plaza area that is the perfect place to stop and do a bit if people watching. There are cafes and souvenir shops on the main road. Grab a drink and have a seat and watch the world go by. It seems like a popular meeting place for young people and for practicing and recording viral social media dances! On my visit there was a national student display of technical skills. Many tents set up showing students in bricklaying, painting, sculpture, painting and computer programming. I watched them work for a good 30 mins. Across the road from the Clock Tower is a shop with resident rescue dogs but they have put up bios of the dogs and all their doggy friends that come and visit them at the shop! I thought this was hilarious! Worth the visit."

Like in an amphitheater, most of the town's awareness programs, film festivals, trade fairs, and business promotional events are held in this square.
On one side is Druk Hotel and on another Thimphu Tower. Locals leisurely walk in and around for rest or random gossip with friends and acquaintances.
Tourists get to observe street fashions or lifestyles of Bhutanese, especially in evenings.
Most of the gift item stalls, souvenir shops, handicraft markets, and local restaurants are within walking distance.
Except during certain events, there is nothing much to do for tourists at the clocktower."
