After 9 years of rigorous Buddhist training, these girls will become "master" nuns and can then go back to their villages to teach. To become a lama, will require many more years. What I observed during my visit, was that the nuns are very proactive, keeping the site as clean as possible. Cleaning, wiping and sweeping all the time."
