"A beautiful temple where you can find peace and pray or converse with the Supreme Creator. Beautiful songs are often heard during some Saturday Masses.
If you like art, this is a good place to enjoy paintings and carvings from the colonial era, the fruit of expert hands."
Cris Cast
"It was built shortly after the city's founding as a parish church dedicated to the evangelization of the Pacha, Arabate, Yanahuara, Canche, Pacaje, and Colla Indians. It is a small and simple church, but it has one of the few fully Renaissance facades (albeit significantly modified) that are preserved in the city. It served as a rectory. The facade is composed like a classical temple with a triangular pediment and lateral pinnacles as a finial. Above the pediment is the bell gable, which, due to its simplicity, forms the visual culmination of the composition and the urban area. The roof is a wooden structure with simple coffered ceilings. Inside, the nave creates a continuous space that culminates in the main altarpiece. The altars retain their original sacred art, a reminder of the building's appearance at the end of the 18th century."
