"A hidden cultural gem in the heart of Sarajevo!

The Bosniak Institute is a treasure trove of art, history, and culture. Just steps away from the Old Town, it features a multi-level gallery, a serene library, and exhibitions that beautifully reflect the richness of Bosnian heritage. I was especially impressed by the Green room showcasing works of Mersad Berber — truly captivating and on the first floor there is a portrait gallery.

The staff are kind, the entrance fee is affordable (only 3 EUR), and the peaceful atmosphere is a perfect escape from the city buzz. If you’re visiting Sarajevo and want a deeper cultural experience — don’t miss this place."

"This was a really fantastic visit today. Especially the exhibition of contemporary paintings and specifically those of Behaudin Selmanovic. The 6 KM is more than worth the visit. I also enjoyed very much the cleanliness, space and calmness in the middle of the busy Sarajevo City Center. The team of the Bosniaken Institute has created an oasis here."

"This is hands down probably the best, most-rounded and genuinely local museum experience you can have in Sarajevo. You can’t miss the building when you walk past it, and if the dull reception area discourages you when you come in, then just ignore that impression. This venue has a collection of very beautiful art along with other exhibits (weapons, furniture, etc.), which altogether speak to the richness and beauty of the Bosniak cultural heritage. The building comprises a tastefully restored hamam, an auditorium and a so-called club where you can have coffee (I believe). I don’t think there’s any way you could regret visiting this place."
