Visitors appreciate the rewarding hike and the cultural significance of the site. However, some find the terrain challenging and note the lack of facilities, advising preparedness.
"Lover's Hill has a long standing reputation in Otse and probably is surrounding towns. The legend goes that long ago, when marriages were arranged, two lovers were arranged to be with different people. So on the night before the brides wedding, they ran away to Lover's Hill. The parents and villagers followed in hot pursuit, but the footprints of the lovers stopped at the bottom of the hill.
Then, much later, sometime in the 80s, the chiefs brother disappeared. He was never found, though his clothes were recovered from Lover's Hill.
The people of Otse are still wary of the Hill, they keep some distance."
