"Very nice historical area in the downtown area of Rio. There are some homeless as mentioned, but that seems to be everywhere. Right in a vibrant night life area of Rio"

"I was fine with the drive-by we did with our private tour guide, but because we had some extra time, my spouse wanted to return and take pics.
Originally built as an aqueduct to supply the city of Rio with fresh water from the Carioca River, the double level arches now supports part of a tram system that links Rio to Santa Teresa.
While we never saw the tram running, the arches provided for some great photo ops.

"We visited Arcos da Lapa during the daytime and were thoroughly impressed by its stunning architecture and historic significance. The area is lively, with plenty of street vendors and local culture to experience. Even though we didn't get to see it at night, the daytime visit alone made it a highlight of our trip. A must-see landmark for anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro!"
