Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Bosque Zoológico Fábio Barreto for its free admission, diverse greenery, and the charming Japanese Garden with its city views. However, some express concerns about the size of animal enclosures and overall animal welfare, noting that it's a simpler zoo experience compared to larger, modern facilities.
"Animals are confined in tiny spaces, not taken care and visibly depressed. The place stinks. It's cruel. That's what it is"
Flavia Farha
"Nice place overall. Not so good about parking your car though. There's no parking lot, so you have to park in the street, probably a little bit far from the entrance. Food is very simple. It's good to have some snacks and water, soda... I saw some complaints about maintenance, but there's not so much to improve. Looking for a stunning zoo? Get a African safari.
Also, there's an entrance for a Japanese Garden (inside the zoo) with small lakes full of turtles and carps and a view-point to the city. A must-see!"

"really pretty place"
