"Cute place for “professing your eternal love.” Couples of many nationalities come here to purchase a lock, write their names and date on it, and add it to the thousands of locks already there. I am not sure if they ever remove some to make way for new ones, but I did see that they add more metal holders as space becomes limited. The store to buy your lock is right next to the fountain. There’s no entrance fee to the actual fountain. Keep in mind that if you throw a coin or key to the fountain, as some people do while making a wish, it will be removed. In order to maintain the pH and quality of the water in the fountain they remove what is tossed to it after a while."
