What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Forte Orange for its historical significance, well-preserved walls, and stunning ocean views, all accessible with free entry. It's a quick but rewarding stop, often combined with beach visits and local dining, though some note it can be explored very rapidly.
"Beautiful fort with a rich history founded by the Dutch and later taken over by the Portuguese. It has an almost intact outer wall and the inside there is a small museum of a person that took care of the fort for many years and met the then queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and the current king Willem-Alexander. Also you can see partly the structure inside the fort. On the top of the fort there are a few original cannons and the few is amazing over the sea. Entrance is free."

"The old Dutch fort was destroyed and rebuilt by the Portuguese. It is better known as Forte Orange. Entrance is free of charge. The view from the top of the old walls is quite nice."
