"I really liked this zoo. The animals were beautiful and well looked after. My understanding is that they are a privately run zoo, which heavily relies on the tourism to fund it (no government funding) so for what it’s worth, I think they do an amazing job and can understand why tickets might seem a little bit pricey. In comparison to Australian zoos, I considered it well priced. The staff were all so kind, they didn’t speak much English, and my Portuguese was terrible, but they were happy to use google translate when required. I just wish some of the areas were a little bigger for some of the animals, and that some of the enclosures looked a bit more green. But other than that, you can’t complain!"
