What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Lago 3 Represa Municipal as a beautiful postcard-worthy spot, ideal for morning and evening walks, runs, and bike rides. The scenic views and peaceful atmosphere are highlights, though some feel the aesthetic could be improved with more amenities like covered seating.
Caio Bonatti
"Cartão postal da cidade. Muito bom para caminhada ou corrida."

The Role of the Reservoir
The management of the water quality is an ongoing effort, with authorities monitoring for any changes that could affect the supply or the environment. This dual role as a public amenity and an essential resource highlights the careful balance maintained by local authorities to ensure both community enjoyment and functional necessity.
Water Management and Quality
Recent observations have noted changes in water coloration, prompting swift action from water authorities to ensure the safety and continuity of the water supply. While these measures are in place, the primary focus for visitors remains on the recreational aspects of the lakes. The presence of a municipal guard post contributes to the safety and security of the area, allowing visitors to feel more at ease while enjoying the natural surroundings.
Recreational Activities and Community Life
Beyond fitness, the reservoir is a popular spot for leisurely strolls, enjoying the scenery, and simply relaxing. The picturesque views, especially during sunrise and sunset, draw many visitors seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The area also hosts various community events, from organized races and walks to cultural gatherings, further cementing its role as a central gathering place for the residents of São José do Rio Preto.
Safety Considerations at the Reservoir
It is crucial for visitors, especially those with children, to remain vigilant and keep a close eye on them at all times when near the water's edge. The presence of a Municipal Guard post offers some reassurance, but personal responsibility for safety remains paramount. Visitors are strongly advised against entering the water for recreational purposes unless in designated and supervised areas, which are not typically available at Lago 3. The focus should remain on land-based activities like walking, running, and cycling.
