"O Rio Juqueriquerê é o único rio navegável do Litoral Norte de São Paulo, e já foi a divisa dos municípios de São Sebastião e Caraguatatuba em toda a sua extensão, porém essa divisa hoje se encontra na Boca da Barra, sendo totalmente abrigado das correntes marinhas, tem ótima profundidade e muitas espécies de peixes usam o rio para abrigarem-se e para desovar, favorecendo a pesca artesanal e de recreio. Diversas marinas e embarcações usam o rio para suas atividades diárias, e a sua comunidade de pescadores é uma das maiores da região. Merece uma atenção do Governo do Estado para realizar as obras de aprofundamento da entrada do rio, mas nunca chegou a ser atendida essa demanda da população."
