"Museu da Gastronomia Maranhense: Edificado no século XIX, o sobrado da Rua da Estrela nº. 82, teve como primeiro proprietário do imóvel Caetano José Teixeira.
O Museu da Gastronomia Maranhense se configura como um espaço para valorização e apresentação da culinária típica maranhense, envolvendo a exposição das tradições e todos os seus sabores.
A Casinha da Roça é uma representação da casa das tradicionais famílias do interior do Maranhão. A decoração inclui frutos típicos e objetos domésticos como a lamparina, cofos, gamelas, pilões, fogareiros e, no seu interior, brincantes que dançam e cantam enquanto preparam pratos tipicos, que representam a antiga e tradicional população maranhense.
A culinária de São Luis, destaca-se especialmente pelo uso de produtos naturais, principalmente, peixes, moluscos, mariscos e outros frutos do mar.
Dentre o elenco de pratos e bebidas tradicionais podemos destacar o arroz de cuxá, a torta de camarão, o doce de buriti, além de bebidas diversificadas como sucos e licores das frutas típicas da região: cupuaçu, bacuri, murici, juçara, jenipapo, o guaraná Jesus e a "tiquira".
O museu realça os festivais de São Luís como: O São João um período de grande festa em toda a cidade.
