"Casa construida por volta de 1850, muito bem preservada, amplo pátio com vegetação farta, espaço aberto para o público. Otimo local para passeio. Lamentavel o fato do porão ter sido transformado em repartição publica com mesas e arquivos, privando a população de conhecer um ambiente onde moravam os escravos. Esse tipo de ambiente não deve ser escondido."

"Museu com muitas fotos antigas de Porto Alegre, lendas e contos da cultura da cidade. Há um bonde abandonado no pátio externo, que poderia ser restaurado para ser devidamente colocado em exposição. Acho que o espaço da casa está mal aproveitado, poderia ter mais espaços para visitação."
