What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Parque Estadual de Vila Velha is a natural treasure with stunning sandstone formations and caves, offering a unique geological experience. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained trails and helpful internal bus service. However, some find the entrance and parking fees to be expensive, and information access can be challenging for non-Portuguese speakers.
"The distance from Curitiba is not worth it in my opinion. The entry tickets are expensive. Parking is expensive. You have to buy water, no filters to fill your water bottle. The formations and hike are really cool. The cave is a view from the top which is nice but nothing to write home about. I think they're constructing a way to have closer access to it. It's a relaxed & interesting day out if you have nothing better to do."

"Place is nice to visit and spend time. One must stick to the routes, not allowed to explore it. Overpriced, considering the distance from the city. The employees could not give proper information when asked about some plants and the place. Formation. You must rely on their code reader to access information. Also, they don't speak foreign languages, other than some basic English."

"Vila Velha is a natural treasure that is worth taking the time to see. The park is under new management and they have done an incredible job making it a destination. This is something you should plan at least half a day to do as there are different attractions spread out. We arrived late which was the only unfortunate part due to quick travel and were still charged full price admission which was a bummer as it wasn’t cheap. About R300 for 6 people to just go see the sandstones.
The formations are like being in something like Jurassic park in real like. Definitely recommend visiting!
The attendants in the park were super kind and the bus service in the park was excellent especially since we were with my aunt who is a heart patient and cannot walk too long."
