I really enjoyed the sunset near the bridge. Also... learn a little about Juscelino Kubitschek and Oscar Niemeyer before you go. It'll make the city SO MUCH more interesting if you can look at it from the historical perspective.

Not easy to find a parking at the bridge area, but if you do, little stalls by the water, hire a kiak boat from the Orla Club, grab an ice cream or Açaí, lots of restaurants also nearby. We didn't cross the bridge on foot this time. But worth doing it."

"Walked across around 3.30p in afternoon on a sunny day. Glad I had my umbrella, but others seemed find without one. The bridge felt secure and didn't rumble too much when trucks drove past. There are two shaded pitstops/areas at the midway point. Beautiful view. Enjoyed the experience."
