"A Romaria foi construida pela igreja, servia em 1930 para abrigar os romeiros a baixo custo, que vinham demonstrar a sua fé ao Bom Jesus do Matosinhos, no Jubileu, teve esse propósito até 1966, entrando em decadência estrutural por falta do uso e manutenção. Em 1990 a gestão do município de Congonhas reconhece esse local como marco histórico e resolve revitalizá-la, transformando o espaço em um novo modo de uso, em um espaço Cultural.
Já o Parque Ecológico da Romaria, ainda não esta funcionando, pois muito das obras ainda estão em atraso, andei visitando com autorização é claro, foi mais para matar a curiosidade e a ansiedade, pois imagino que com a Romaria e o Parque da Romaria funcionando será um local a mais de lazer para a população e para o visitante viajante."
