Mosteiro de São Bento do Rio de Janeiro. The opulent monastery is a stark contrast to the monks who pass through in their black robes. Founded in 1590, construction on the first iteration of the building began in 1633.

The shop was crowded which was fun, a lot of people and happy faces. The garden was well kept and the walk up to the mosteiro was also very pleasant. Great and authentic place to visit if you want some rio history."
