"A Cia. de Docas de Santos obviamente não tem interesse algum em promover o turismo na Vila da Usina de Itatinga. Bertioga esta fazendo um bom trabalho em abrir novamente esta possibilidade de visita aos turistas porem...As visitas guiadas por empresas locais (única forma de acessar a vila) praticam tarifas dignas da Disneyworld, (eufemismo para muito caro!) Apesar do lugar ser incrível em paisagens naturais, arquitetura, historia além dos meios de transporte que se utiliza para chegar lá( barco para cruzar o rio Itapanhaú (2 minutos) e 7 km em trenzinho em meio a mata atlântica secundária, salpicada de riachos de aguas cristalinas) ainda assim o local não está preparado para receber turistas, falta estrutura básica, como banheiros funcionais, locais para comer e beber com o mínimo de conforto e opções de alimentos. Falta um museu, falta literatura sobre o local, faltam placas com fotos ilustrativas e didáticas, falta uma lojinha de turistas etc etc, Ah !!! tem ate uma ruina seiscentista de jesuítas que não se para ou visita. Nem pense que vc vai visitar as instalações e o rio no alto da serra ou ver a usina por dentro, é tudo "off limits" para turistas . Enfim é um valioso diamante bruto, mas bruto mesmo, que precisar ser lapidado."
