What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
St. Anastasia Island is praised as a beautiful, historical gem with a magical atmosphere, offering a well-organized trip and unique photo opportunities. Visitors appreciate the restored monastery and lighthouse, as well as the pet-friendly environment. However, some find restaurant prices high and caution is advised regarding parking payment systems.
"Very beautiful island to visit whit ancien history. I recommend visiting the island museum. Expect prices of food in thr local restaurants to be high. Boat trip took 30 min. You can't buy tickets in advance but you can call and make a reservation. If you park your car on the so called Green Zone just outside the departing port make sure you pay either using SMS if you have a Bulgarian operator number, or use one of the hidden kiosks by the sidewalk. Using the App is useless as it will tell you that the current day is free. In my case I believed the App and ended get fined 30 Lv (16 Eur). So beware of this interesting way of getting some extra cash from distracted tourists."

"A land forgotten by time. Beautiful scenery, with the old monastery, the little harbour and the lighthouse marking the positive points and the old prison as the negative vibe."

"A wonderful, magical place. Very nice organized trip - you have to book the seats on the boat. The place has tons of history and is very well restored. There are dozens of places on the island where you can take unique pictures. The restaurant offers a nice variety of food. Don't miss the free historical lecture. If you have 3 hours in Burgas, I strongly recommend you to take the time to visit St. Anastasia - you won't regret."
