Today we visited the Kordopulov house situated in the smallest town in Bulgaria - Melnik. The house was built in 1754 by the affluent Kordopulos family (Kordopoulos), who at one time were one of the largest wine producers and traders and traded all over Europe. We even did some wine tasting at the end of our tour. #travelbulgaria #melnik #kordopulovahouse #lovebulgaria🇧🇬 #imagesofbulgaria

The ornate interiors, stained-glass windows, and wood carvings are frequently highlighted as stunning features. The included wine tasting is a popular bonus, adding to the overall positive experience.

"Kordopulov House is very well preserved and maintained. Since it is the largest Revival-period house on the Balkan Peninsula, inside you will see richly decorated and ornately furnished rooms, remarkable woodcarvings, colourful stained-glass windows, and impressive wall paintings, reflecting the wealth and good taste of the Kordopulov family that once lived here.
In addition, the surrounding sandstone hills and the surrounding mountains are stunning.

This house is no doubt the most iconic site in Melnik and arguably in South-West Bulgaria, a must see if you are in that area.
There is a small admission fee of 3 Euro."
