"Gorgeous interior and the result of painstaking restoration. Definitely go and see it for the wall and ceiling art if nothing else. Also, there was a nice little surprise in the basement when I went there ☺️"

Gergana Stamenova

"Klianti House is one of the oldest preserved residential buildings of the Bulgarian Revival period in the Architectural and Historical Reserve of Ancient Plovdiv. Today it has kept about 2/3 of its original appearance and over the years it has changed several owners. The builders were the masters who built the church of St. Virgin Mary. Together with Lamartine House, it is part of the authentic architectural framework of the Revival period. Klianti House was declared a cultural heritage in 1949 and in 1963 a cultural monument. In 1995 it was declared an architectural and artistic monument of national importance. The pearl of the Old Town is an undeniable peak in the development of architecture and decorative art. The rich artistic decoration is concentrated on the living floor, where the wood sculpture and the polychrome - the geometric motifs and the colorful inlays - abound on the wooden ceilings, there are unique landscapes dating from 1817 and monumental compositions of plant ornaments, the walls are richly painted, there are wooden doors. On the first floor, there is an impressive courtyard built during the first building period. The northeastern premises are restored: the fireplace, the shelter over the fireplace, the couch and the cupboards. The second floor today consists of three rooms and a spacious porch with many windows. At the level of the porch, there is an intermediate warehouse with a height of 1.60 m, called "himala" ("the low" from Greek). From the porch through a wooden staircase you can reach the two main rooms on the floor. Every piece of furniture in Klianti is authentic, restored to the smallest detail. The tables, the chairs, the utensils, the covers even are taken out of the Ancient Plovdiv fund and carefully selected for the different halls in the magnificent building. The only new elements of the interior are the handmade carpets, which are tailored to the color of the frescoes. And they have to be studied for hours along with stunning ceilings."

"It showed considerable change of architecture style in these area. This meaningful building had renovated extending 19 century through 20 century by few experts. every hall and room are gorgeous and so colorful. at first time, it’s hard to accept that facing really beautiful and antique style interior in outskirts local city. But it does not take so long to understand how much historical and time-honored this city is."
