What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Sinclair Inn Museum, calling it a special treasure in Annapolis Royal. The building's unique preservation and visible construction methods are highly praised, but the standout feature is the incredibly friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable staff who bring history to life. Some suggest a deeper integration of Indigenous history and colonial context for a more complete narrative.
"What an incredibly special treasure in Annapolis. The building itself is amazing and so uniquely preserved, but the real feather in the museum's cap is the staff. Ken (I think) is clearly passionate and loves telling visitors all about the history of this building. We were lucky enough to visit the painted room, an incredible space hosted by a very educated and interested staff member.
Take an hour or so to visit if you're in town."

"Living in Bear River, we must have walked by this neat building more than a dozen times without realizing the treasure that it is.
Enthusiastically recommend you visit the painted room upstairs - it is genuinely remarkable and a bit humbling to be amid all that history. Also - take the time to and speak with the staff who were friendly, informed and engaging and knew lots of great details.
As a white settler on Mi'kmaq land today, I wonder if there's an important missed conversation here? Sharing about the people and communities who have been stewards of these lands forever, and contextualizing this history within the violence of colonization in Canada, feels foundational to any discussions of history, and could really ground this building within colonial realities."

"Really friendly enthusiastic staff. Definitely worth a visit, there was an slideshow of old photos when we were there which was excellent."
