Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty of Birkenhead Lake Provincial Park, highlighting its serene lake, sandy beach, and picturesque mountain views. It's praised as an ideal spot for swimming, fishing, and enjoying a digital detox. However, some campers find the campsites to be small and close together, and the mosquito population can be intense during summer months.

"100% recommendation to go and visit there, very beautiful view and warm water except when it meets the creeks. Easy hike right side of the lake. Campsite are good you can easily fit three tents and a car but two recommended. But of drive but worth it. No connection to the outside world no Internet no network, if you feel like you need break the place to go to. Swimming, Paddle boarding, kayaking. Rangers are helpful as well. Clean bathroom pictures aren’t clear pics bc of smoke."

"Beautiful mountain lake with a nice day-use area. It's roughly 8 km down a dirt road to get to the lake, but it was totally worth it. We took our young children here for a picnic, and they had a blast. There is a grassy area, a beach, and picnic tables. There were only vault toilets, but that's expected because this place is kind of in the middle of nowhere.

I wouldn't recommend the campground here. The sites were way too small and close together for my liking - - and way too close to the road. We'd come back here for another day trip though - - it's really picturesque."

"Date April.23,2022 the Birkenhead park still close due to snow and some broken tree, but you can drive up to the gate then walk for another 1.9km which is like 40min-1hour walk.
You can drive using 4x4 or regular car but be prepare driving there as there is some loose gravel and not fully renovated drive road.
The park it self still amazing specially the lake and snowy mountain.
It was flat trail around the campground and there is washroom available when we go up there also we see some people did camping near blackwater lake.
It was a family friendly trail.
You must visit here."

However, the picturesque lake views and the surrounding mountain scenery are undeniable perks. Reddit

Reservations are essential, especially during peak season, as the park is a popular destination. It's wise to book your spot well in advance to secure a place.
