What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning panoramic views from the escarpment, especially during the vibrant fall season. The well-maintained trails offer a good mix of easy walking and challenging rocky sections, making it suitable for various fitness levels. Some find the entry fee a bit high, and booking ahead is crucial, especially on weekends.
"Very simple hike. We went during Fall in october. Crowd is decent. There were washrooms available staff points available as well. It’s not easy to get lost due to markers and signs all around. Perfect for family and children as well. Some parts along the cliff side can be scary. Also on the cliff side, rough rain due to many rocks and roots around. It can be fun if you’re looking for more than a hike. But I think $12 is too much though. The scenery during fall is amazing though looks like pictures from postcards."

"Amazing fall foliage views!! Mount Nemo is an escarpment rock that overlooks Mississauga and Oakville regions. On clear days you can even see the Toronto Skyline! There are so many viewpoints along the escarpment so you can probably find a place to take in the views leisurely without bothering others :)
I’ve visited In spring, summer, and fall, and my favourite is the fall season.
If you’re planning to visit, this conservation area can be approached from 2 sides, and these are at two different difficulty levels.
For “easy mode”, I recommend using the Guelph line Entrance. Bigger car park, manned ticket booth, washrooms, and other amenities. Plus you’re starting at the top of the escarpment so there are no steep climbs. It’s going to be a fairly leisurely walk. (Except for this tiny rocky area)
For “hard mode”, take the Walkers Line entrance. This entrance didn’t have a manned ticket booth but required tickets, so you’ll have to buy tickets online. If you approach from this side, there is an extremely steep climb up the escarpment which gets super narrow at places. I went on a rainy day so it was slippery too, so proper footwear is a must if you take this side. Plus, you don’t get any washrooms or other amenities until you reach the top and join the main trails.
Happy hiking!"

"I visited Mount Nemo recently and had a great experience! The views along the trail were absolutely impeccable — definitely one of the highlights. There are three interconnected loops, and I chose to hike the South Loop (the yellow trail). The path varied nicely, with some flat areas and others a bit rocky, which kept things interesting.
As a solo hiker, I was really happy to see quite a few people along the trail — it’s always reassuring and adds a nice sense of community. I also passed by an outdoor pottie on the trail (didn’t use it, but it’s good to know one is available if needed). Overall, a beautiful and well-maintained trail that I’d gladly return to!"

Navigating the Trails: Guelph Line vs. Walkers Line
The Walkers Line entrance, on the other hand, presents a more challenging adventure. This access point often requires pre-purchasing tickets online, as there may not be a manned booth. The primary draw here is the steep and sometimes narrow climb up the escarpment. This section demands proper footwear due to its rocky and potentially slippery nature, especially after rain. While more strenuous, it offers a rewarding sense of accomplishment and a more rugged hiking experience. Once at the top, you join the main trail system, where amenities like washrooms become available.
Regardless of your chosen entrance, the trails are generally well-marked with signs and markers, making it difficult to get lost. The Bruce Trail also passes through Mount Nemo, offering opportunities to connect with this extensive hiking network.
