Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Callander Museum and Alex Dufresne Gallery for its rich local history, particularly the extensive Dionne Quintuplets exhibit. The knowledgeable and friendly staff are frequently highlighted for providing personalized tours and engaging insights. While small, the museum is packed with fascinating artifacts and offers a delightful glimpse into the region's past.

"So much history packed into a little museum. I could spend a whole day here going through all the artifacts and readings. Natasha at the front desk was even more knowledgeable than the curators at the Quints museum in North Bay. If you want to know who and when North Bay got put on the map go here. While in Callender grab an ice cream and check out the board walk with the view of the light house."

"Went to this museum on June 4. The original builder , John McBurney, is related to me. So this initially spurred my interest, but that fact was a small part of this heritage museum.
It was a full and very interesting visit. From it's geological history, to the birth of the Dionne quintuplets, to an overview of Callander history. Visiting this small town was indeed a delight
If you are vacationing in this area, or driving past, make a point to take a short detour off the highway, and be prepared to take a history lesson , as well as enjoy this town
Informative staff, ready to answer question and guide you through the exhibits and scheduled events.
I now live in Vancouver, but when I return to Ontario to visit relatives, I will venture to this area again and absorb some more hidden history of family and culture."

"Very nice museum. We got a personal tour. Nice regional artifacts. An area that is dedicated to local artists."
