"I walk here every chance I get. It is so quiet and beautiful and the trees are so majestic. In hot weather I swear it is 5° cooler. Every walk a spiritual experience for me.
The trees are dressed up with lichen like tinsel on a Christmas tree. Fungi abound at certain times, especially after rain, or in fall."

"Perfect for a daily walk. Dog friendly and all trails are perfectly marked out."

"These are beautiful, in town recreational trails. Five main entrances to these trails, three have parking lots. Two entrances have gates that get locked at night - if you are parked in the parking lot - you'll have to leave your car there overnight.
Some trails are actually wide dirt &/or gravel roads, easy level walking, somewhat groomed & maintained. Other trails are probably more suitable for hikers or riders . Horseback riders , mountain bikers, runners, folk's walking their dog's, all share these trails/roads - be considerate of others.
Trails are named (eg Beaver Fever; Pony Trail, Connector, Huckleberry, etc.). Plus many trails have name markers & even maps at the trail head. Creeks & streams here often dry up during the summer months, maybe have water at your vehicle for your dog(s) and/or horse(s).
Though it is in town trails, wildlife encounters do happen. Cougars & bears are often spotted in these woods, check the map boards at the park entrances for recent notifications. I've encountered more bears(including a mother w cubs) & cougars here, then in remote wilderness areas. Please be aware & alert to your surroundings. NO bathrooms available in this park. Carry your garbage out - some entrances have garbage cans. NO campfires, camping or picnic tables in this park."
